In life, the simple things are often the most underrated. We take notice of big gestures while consistent, everyday habits go relatively unnoticed; we chase for the elaborate, often likening that to the pinnacle of being, where it may not necessarily be the case.

Citizen recognises this. It's one of the cornerstones of the Japanese watchmaker's design ethos—beautifully engineered, inside and out. While the brand does venture into different design aesthetics, there's a measured way in how it approaches each one, often favouring a sense of visual purity as opposed to flashy elements. Case in point is the Tsuyosa Automatic NJ0151-88M. Crafted in stainless steel, the timepiece is designed with a seamless matching bracelet that affords a bit of a sporty flair but thoroughly elegant and dressy in execution. The dial is simple with hour markers in place of numerals and a three o'clock date window that doesn't draw focus from the stunning sky blue sunray dial. It's an accessory and a timepiece all at the same time.

If it tickles your fancy, there's a smaller variation, the NJ0200-50L, that's designed for our better halves (or for some of us able to pull off smaller watches). It carries the same design language as the NJ0151-88M but rendered in a 37mm case as opposed to the 40mm of the latter. And together, they're like the small gestures that you find yourself doing every single day without thinking—meaningful and say more about you than any of the big stuff.
