For one day only, local food brand Grain is pulling back the curtain on its creative process with From Test to Table; a rare peek into the magic (and mess) behind their popular Meals on Demand and Catering offerings. It’s not your typical tasting event, it’s a walkthrough of Grain’s test kitchen, where dishes are imagined and polished into the crowd pleasers you know.
This immersive one-day event invites you into the heart of the action, from test recipes and to experimental flavour pairings. Whether you’re a curious eater or a long time fan, it’s a rare opportunity to explore the creativity and care that fuel one of Singapore’s most quietly inventive food brands.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’d look like if your favourite Japanese snacks came to life, Itadakimasu might have the answer. Tokyo-based illustrator Maitoparta lands in Singapore for the first time with a solo exhibition that’s equal parts adorable and absurd.
The fun doesn’t stop at the artwork on the walls. Visitors can sign up for live-drawn sushi portraits, or join Maitoparta for an artist sharing session on 19 July. For the true fans, there’s also a chance to book one of the “omakase” slots happening on 19 and 20 July, and leave with a custom drawing whipped up just for you.

This July, The Projector is teaming up with Singapore Art Museum and artist Heman Chong for a special film programme. It’s part of the public events surrounding Chong’s latest survey exhibition This is a dynamic list and may never be able to satisfy particular standards for completeness; an intentionally unwieldy title that hints at the open-ended nature of his work. Chong has selected two films that deeply influenced him as a young artist in the late 90s, offering audiences a glimpse into the cinematic moments that helped shape his creative journey.
The line-up includes Beau Travail by Claire Denis, showing for one night only on 19 July, followed by Wong Kar-Wai’s Happy Together on 26 July. Both films explore themes of longing, movement, memory, and the often lonely spaces in between. Screened exclusively at The Projector Cineleisure, these are rare opportunities to catch two iconic works back on the big screen. For film lovers and curious minds alike, it’s a chance to revisit or perhaps discover, stories that still resonate decades later.
When: 19 July & 26 July

To mark Singapore’s 60th year of independence, Cuturi Gallery presents Sixty Summers Here, a group show that steers clear of sweeping declarations. Instead, it turns its attention to the subtleties: what it means to live, make, and pay attention in the city today. Featuring ten Singaporean artists in their 20s and 30s, the exhibition leans into process and presence rather than polished narratives.
When: 12 July - 9 August, 12pm to 7pm (closed Mondays and Sundays)
Where: 61 Aliwal Street, Singapore 199937
The Projector is giving July the full Wes Anderson treatment with Wes Ander-thon; a month-long tribute to the director’s whimsical world. Whether you’re well-versed in his filmography or just discovering the charm of his characters and colour palettes, the line-up features five of his most beloved titles back on the big screen. There’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and The Darjeeling Limited.
Don't forget to check out the bar when you go. It’s rolling out themed snacks and drinks for the occasion, like The Grand Brewdapest pilsner and Mr. Fox’s (Stolen) Chicken karaage. Whether it’s a quiet solo night or a casual catch-up with friends, there’s something grounding about seeing these offbeat classics as they were meant to be seen.

At a time when art spaces can often feel intimidating or out of reach, Supper House is quietly inviting you to their space. Their latest initiative—a series of pop-up exhibitions nestled within the Journey East furniture store—blurs the lines between the everyday and the extraordinary. Ong Si Hui’s opening show, 開門見山, is a prime example as its serene sculptural works invite reflection, not spectacle, and carry the weight of time and travel in their quiet forms.
With new “micro-shows” appearing regularly and an upcoming satellite exhibition at Jurong West’s Blk 505 wet market, they’re proving that art doesn’t need a pristine gallery or polished crowd to make an impact. By meeting people where they are—whether browsing furniture or buying bok choy—they’re chipping away at the idea that art is something separate from life.
When: Now till 29 July, 10am to 6pm
Where: Journey East Store, #03-02 Tan Boon Liat Building
Having made its rounds in Paris, London, and Colombia, Jurassic World: The Experience is now stomping its way onto our sunny shores—more specifically, into the cool, lush foliage of the Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay. Expect to encounter towering, lifelike animatronic dinosaurs, such as a roaring Tyrannosaurus emerging from a wreath of mist, or a Stygimoloch attempting to free itself from a freight container. There’s even an 8.5-metre-tall Brachiosaurus ready to greet you, surrounded by 3D replicas of long-extinct plants dating back to the Jurassic period.
Do be warned that the effects are highly realistic, so it’s worth mentally preparing your child if you have one of those. But if they do end up in tears, there are petting stations where baby dinosaurs are ready to sniff their hands and be petted.
When: Now till 31 December 2025, 9am to 9pm daily

After months spent piecing together stories in thread and ink, Shian’s debut solo show, Harbinger, lands like a quiet spell. Drawing from Chinese folk imagery and dreamlike fragments, the exhibition slips between worlds. Tigers curl around lotus ponds, odd frogs linger in the corners, and each work hums with a sense of otherworldly presence.
Rooted in intuition and charged with quiet magic, Shian’s work meditates on what it means to move through thresholds. It’s a show best wandered through slowly, letting each piece pull at something unspoken. Opening night promises not just a glimpse into Shian’s world but a full immersion—textiles, tears, and maybe a strange sense of clarity in the chaos.
When: 28 June - 20 July, 1pm to 6pm (closed Mondays and Sundays)
Where: Chaos Gallery, Knuckles & Notch, 261 Waterloo Street #02-25
