We Finally Have Our First Look at Cillian Murphy in the Peaky Blinders Movie, The Immortal Man

The Shelby gang are heading for the silver screen—and sooner than you think
Published: 6 December 2025

It's been over three years since we last saw Tommy Shelby and the Peaky Blinders swaggering around Small Heath, after Tommy took himself off to perish in the peace and quiet of the Warwickshire countryside only to pull himself around, realise he was actually fine, and find some kind of equilibrium in not murdering his doctor.

And all that time, we've been drumming our fingers, fiddling with our flat caps and checking our pocket watches as the long-promised Peaky Blinders movie heads glacially toward us. Then again, maybe we should have expected it: sticking a bit of slow-mo on things is very much the Peaky way.

Then, on 5 December, we finally got our first teaser of the new film: Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

But what else do we know about the Peaky Blinders movie? Here's everything that's been shared so far, and when you can expect to see the Shelbys on the big screen.

What will happen in the Peaky Blinders movie?

Netflix gave away an overview of the plot as well: "Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders…"

Knight has long teased the idea of a wartime Peaky movie—indeed, as far back as season five he was pitching the idea of the main series ending with the first air raid sirens of the Second World War going off in Birmingham. That didn't end up happening, but given we left the final season in 1936 it makes sense we made it to the sirens. Tommy might well have knocked being an MP on the head for good, though being close to Churchill might draw him into some high-level plotting.

Also, let's not forget Tommy's got a bee in his bonnet about Hitler. That doctor told Tommy he was dying; the doctor knows Hitler; ergo, Hitler tried to kill Tommy. Ipso facto. Nobody takes potshots at Tommy Shelby and lives.

Who is in the Peaky Blinders movie?

Cillian Murphy's back! Alongside Rebecca Ferguson (Dune, A House of Dynamite), Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, The Hateful Eight), Sophie Rundle (After the Flood, Gentleman Jack), Barry Keoghan (Saltburn, The Banshees of Inisherin) and Stephen Graham (Adolescence, Boiling Point).

Not bad. not bad at all.

What season six did very explicitly was drop in new characters to do most of the running around, particularly Tommy's son Duke and the younger Blinders . In 2023 Knight promised "some new faces that will hopefully be quite surprising," which we're all simply going to have to assume will include Adolf Hitler. There was a brief and very quickly doused rumour ahead of season six that Hitler would appear in Peaky, and would be played by Rowan Atkinson. Imagine. Just imagine.

When will the Peaky Blinders movie be released?

In select cinemas on 6 March and on Netflix on 20 March 2026.
