The optical brand synonymous with cutting-edge performance and bold design has just upped the ante. Oakley is launching the reopening of its Southeast Asian premium store at The Shoppes, Marina Bay Sands (MBS).
Let’s start with the exclusives. For the first time outside Japan, Oakley introduces its Custom Program for Apparel & Accessories. Think initials stitched onto your cap, a personal logo on your gym bag, or locally inspired designs created with Temple of Skate.
Eyewear takes centre stage with the in-house Eye Exam Lab by Essilor. Here, athletes and aesthetes alike can get prescriptions fitted with Oakley’s signature Prizm™ lenses—designed to enhance visual clarity for athletes and style enthusiasts alike.
Then there’s the Smart Shopper system, complete with a Virtual Mirror which lets you try on countless frame-and-lens combinations on your mobile phone.
And for the collectors, Oakley is dropping exclusive collections like the Japan Skull Collection and the Latitude Flight Collection, inspired by the brand’s 50th anniversary and the concept of metamorphosis.
Who's got two thumbs and can manifest an ode to opulence with artful restraint this effortlessly? Is something Prada would say if the brand had two thumbs and a way with words. Understandable when its latest boutique at ION Orchard, spanning more than 1,200 square meters across two floors of sartorial audacity, does exactly that.
A distinct curved glass façade defines the parameters, offering a voyeur's peek into the world of curated indulgence. Of course, the etched signature triangular then presents a geometric wink to the brand’s monogrammed dominion.
Within, the palette is quintessential Prada. The black and white chequered marble floor obviously evokes the hallowed space of the original Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II store in Milan.
The layout thoughtfully caters to bespoke experiences. Downstairs, the pastel green walls create a serene backdrop for the men’s collections, from tailored ready-to-wear to covetable leather goods and footwear.
Ascend the sculptural staircase and the green deepens into a floral motif as bold as it is beautiful. The women's paradise extends beyond ready-to-wear and leather goods to encompass the sparkling allure of the Eternal Gold fine jewellery collection and the personalised Made-to-Measure area.
As if the boutique weren’t enough, there’s Prada Caffè. The new, caffeine-blessed dimension of the boutique embeds itself on the second floor. The scene: Sipping espresso amid the brand’s visual lexicon and hints of classic '50s Italian interior design. How does one say no to that?
Shopping destination, yes. A luxurious outpost where Prada hallmarks are served and its iconic atmosphere is tangible, double yes.
