Spring Blooms with Roku Gin Sakura Bloom 2025 Edition

The House of Suntory brings the season’s fleeting beauty to life with Roku Gin’s Sakura Bloom 2025 Edition

While stocks plummet and the world gird its loins for more tomfoolery from a certain American president, our indifferent planet turns regardless. As one season passes into another; before we know it, we awaken to spring. In Japan, the spring season has a different connotation as an annual rehearsal of beauty and impermanence. The short-term nature of a sakura tree in bloom is typical of that ephemerality. It's the sort of moment that requires one to pause and contemplate their standing in the universe. With the return of Roku Gin's Sakura Bloom 2025 Edition, The House of Suntory invites us to pause, breathe deeply, and, maybe, raise a glass to the season of renewal.

Roku (“six” in Japanese) is named so because, along with juniper, its gin draws from six native botanicals—sakura flower and leaf, gyokuro tea, sencha tea, sanshō pepper, and yuzu—each harvested at the moment of shun, when nature reaches its peak of ripeness and vitality. This results in a delicately floral and robust with flavour:

Roku Gin Sakura Bloom 2025 underwent a glow-up as well. The bottle has a Eriko Horiki-designed washi paper label; with hints of pink and metallic tones, which evokes the quiet drama of cherry blossoms in descent. Takeshi Ohgushi, a master of ink and movement, came up with the gift box artwork, of the "transient beauty of cherry blossoms".

To mark the release of Roku Gin Sakura Bloom 2025, the brand partners with AMI Patisserie for a dessert and cocktail session. Called the Limited Edition Sakura Bloom Petite Gâteaux Set (SGD68++), the experience is available throughout April. Featuring four confections—Strawberry Tarte, Matcha Kinako Choux, Sakura Choux, and Spring Citrus Tarte—each embodies a different facet of the spring season. A complimentary serve of Sakura Bloom Gin & Tonic with Pink Gari is included, while stocks last.

There will also be a showcase of Sakura Bloom cocktails at some of Singapore's finest bars. You may find them at participating venues that include Nutmeg & Clove (Asia’s 50 Best Bars #6), Neon Pigeon, Live Twice, Last Word, Taylor Adam, and MOGĀ—all known for crafting stories as much as they do drinks. Prices start at SGD28, but what you’re really purchasing is a memory; that brief, beautiful moment held in a glass.
