Another year, another Samsung unpacked. Unveiled at Old Billingsgate in London, the Korean tech giant unveiled its eighth-generation foldables, and advanced wearables. It was an interesting line-up, but there's a Galaxy Z, that we feel, might reinvigorate the meh foldable scene.

The Z Series continues its streak of having a slimmer designs, coupled with tougher builds. We have seven generations of foldable know-how that culminates in a lineup with improved Galaxy AI and emphasis on multitasking. Leading the foldable line-up, is the Galaxy Z Fold8. This is a foldable with a new form factor, a new display ratio. When folded, it's a 10:16 ratio, when unfolded, it's 4:3. Unfolded, the main display turns into a larger canvas, which is good for films. When rotated, the same display ratio becomes an e-book reader. It seems like the most natural dimension for that sort thing. Weighing at 201g, it also has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and a larger 4,800mAh battery, so performance and battery life isn't an issue.

Camera-wise, its Dual 50 MP cameras capture hi-res details across the wide and ultra-wide perspectives. It's the same with Dual Recording that captures both side of the device.

Next is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which is geared more to productivity and content creation. It has an expansive 8-inch main display that unfolds into a workspace for multitasking. Backed by an advanced camera system (200 MP main camera; 50 MP ultra-wide camera; improved night photography; 8K video recording. This is also the slimmest Z Fold, standing at 4.1mm when unfolded and weighing in at 215g.

Rounding out the trio is the Galaxy Z Flip8, again as hyperbole goes, it's the sleekest Flip yet. More geared towards content creators, this device is built for quick, expressive interactions on the go. It has the FlexWindow—an AI-native everyday interface—that places your information and assistance to the cover screen, which removes the extra step of unfolding the phone to access the features.

On the camera front, the Z Flip8 still allows for you to prop your phone to record, thanks to its Flex Mode feature. Its 50 MP camera with ProVisual Engine delivers an advanced selfie experience. It even has a steady cam trait called Horizontal Lock option, to keep the footage smooth and consistently framed.

With wearables, we are getting the all-new Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 (the latter is the more affordable version of a health tracker). The name of the game here is health and what sort of insights that come with wearing the watch. The Galaxy Watches have the largest battery and brightest display, and are powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform.

Designed for endurance, and extreme condition, the 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra2's dedicated outdoor sports modes will PUSH YOUR LIMITS. There's Trail Run that tracks elevation (climbing progress and terrain impact); there's Sweat Loss, which estimates sweat loss relative to body weight and tells you to drink water. The Ultra2 is now also dive-ready, not just water-resistant. You can go up to 10ATM with the Ultra2.

With a 800mAh battery life, its display goes up to 5,000 nits of brightness. Encased in a shock-resistant titanium casing, thanks to magic (or engineering), the watch thickness is 12 per cent less than the previous model: it's lighter, and thinner, and comes in either Titanium Silver and Titanium Grey.
