RIMOWA and MYKITA have come together again to expand on their Heritage and Visor eyewear series with two new designs. Like when it was first launched early last year, the RIMOWA | MYKITA collaboration combines the former's signature use of aluminium with MYKITA's patented eyewear engineering. The Heritage series, as the name suggests, is the duo's interpretation of classic eyewear styles reimagined in the image of both brands, while the Visor series is a futuristic take on wraparound sunglasses with a foundation crafted from ultra-light stainless steel. Both have been reinvigorated as part of the latest collaborative effort.
The MR007 expands the Heritage series' archetypal silhouettes with perfectly rounded frames that come in full silver and black colourways. The design doesn't stray away from the minimalist sensibilities of the series, with every design element of the frame colour-matched seamlessly. Additionally, the existing MR006 teardrop aviator model in the series is now available in a black colourway.
As for the Visor series, the MR008 introduces a more streamlined statement than the previous iterations in both rounded and squared silhouettes. The MR008 maintains the series' special toric lens construction as well as the distinctive Mylon® shield clip that holds the lens in place. The model is available in a full black colourway as well as a Cashmere Silver iteration that is paired with a Shadow Silver shield, reinforcing a refined and meticulous monochronic look reflecting the use of industrial materials.
Both German brands are undoubtedly experts of their respective fields—RIMOWA's relentless pursuit of quality and innovation across travel and lifestyle accessories, and MYKITA's interdisciplinary approach to eyewear. The RIMOWA | MYKITA pieces are developed by RIMOWA, and then handcrafted in MYKITA HAUS, the brand's own facility in Berlin.
