Rising Thai actor Phuwin Tangsakyuen is very familiar with Loewe. He's been a constant guest of the brand for its many global activations, including sitting front row at a number of its runway shows in Paris. And naturally, Phuwin wears Loewe, so he's very much knowledgable about the brand on multiple fronts.
But of course, that was a different chapter of Loewe.
The Spring/Summer 2026 season marks the debut of creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Loewe, the first duo to take the creative helm of the brand together. With newness, comes excitement—that was exactly what was felt by the brand as well as Phuwin and fellow Thai actress Film Rachanun Mahawan at the launch the new chapter in Singapore earlier this month.
It only made sense that we asked someone who has grown to be associated with Loewe about his thoughts on the new direction and collection. And Phuwin definitely has his own opinions.

ESQUIRE SINGAPORE: What were your initial thoughts when you first saw the collection?
PHUWIN TANGSAKYUEN: Honestly, very refreshing. The colours felt alive, almost like they had their own personality. There’s something very optimistic about it. It feels playful but still very crafted, like every detail was considered. I remember thinking, “This feels like summer, but smarter.”
ESQ: What's your favourite colour from the collection that you’d wear repeatedly?
PT: While the collection is really colourful, my favourite colour is actually black and so I think the black pieces actually stands out to me way more—it is an extremely versatile colour and you can wear it anytime of the year.
ESQ: If you could use only one bag from the Loewe Spring/Summer 2026 collection for the rest of the year, which would it be and why?
PT: Definitely the Amazona 180. It's light and so roomy, and I like how it elevates a casual look.

ESQ: How many ways can you carry the new Loewe Amazona 180?
PT: Right now, I think the two ways I like to carry it is on my shoulder, and as a top handle. But I like that it comes with a crossbody strap which is useful whenever I need to go handsfree.
ESQ: What’s an outfit from the collection you’d recommend for a first date?
PT: The outfit I wore for the event actually! It is made with a very breathable fabric which makes it comfortable to wear for our climate, and in case it gets cold when I’m indoors, the knit comes in useful.
ESQ: If you could assign a song to the collection, what would it be?
PT: "Marea (we've lost dancing)" - Fred again...

ESQ: When you think of Loewe, what immediately comes to mind?
PT: Craft; always craft first. It always feels thoughtful, artistic, and very intentional, and it almost feels like you can feel the hands behind every piece.
ESQ: We’re in the spring/summer fashion season now, what’s your idea of a good way to cool down this time of the year?
PT: Being near water definitely helps but I think even just being indoors with good music and light fabrics makes a difference. I think cooling down is also a mindset—not rushing too much, taking breaks, wearing pieces that breathe and move with you.

ESQ: Like the vibrant collection, do you foresee a colourful 2026 for yourself? Why?
PT: I hope so! I think “colourful” doesn’t just mean busy, to me it also means growth, new experiences, new collaborations. I want 2026 to be full of learning and moments that challenge me creatively. If it’s colourful, I think it means I’m evolving.
ESQ: What are you most excited about this new chapter at Loewe?
PT: The energy. Loewe has a way of making you feel something instantly, but at the same time, you know there’s so much depth behind it. I’m excited to grow alongside that, to explore different sides of myself through the brand’s creativity, and to share that journey with people who truly resonate with it.

The Loewe Spring/Summer 2026 collection is now available in boutiques and online.
