Don't discount the fact that Onitsuka Tiger is known for sneakers; the Japanese brand takes its craftsmanship seriously. Back in 2008, Onitsuka Tiger launched its more premium NIPPON MADE line that's crafted entirely in Japan—specifically in the Trottori Prefecture as well as Osaka—and designed to showcase Japanese craftsmanship to the world.

Now, it's repeating that same ethos by tapping on the expertise of Italian craftsmanship with the Onitsuka Tiger ITALIAN MADE series. If NIPPON MADE is about highlighting Japanese shoemaking, ITALIAN MADE exemplifies the uniqueness of Japanese design as interpreted by Italian expertise.

The ITALIAN MADE series begins with two heritage Onitsuka Tiger models, the MEXICO 66™ and the FABRE™ silhouettes. Although they may appear similar, the former is the original design that made Onitsuka Tiger a household name and distinguished by its heel flap, while the latter is a more conventional sneaker design. Both have been reimagined using Italian leather with vintage finishes applied by Italian artisans. The ITALIAN MADE MEXICO 66™ sneakers get a further upgrade with a more elevated cup sole (instead of its thin sole) that heightens the vintage feel of the entire series.

Just like NIPPON MADE, the new ITALIAN MADE series is crafted entirely in Italy. It's a coming together of style and comfort with an aesthetic to match. And across both silhouettes, the colours remain monochromatic and neutral, save for the MEXICO 66™ that's additionally available in the brand's signature yellow hue.
