Grey. A colour most often dismissed as dull, dreary, and a little too beige-adjacent for comfort. But New Balance begs to differ... and frankly, so do we. It’s time grey had its renaissance. Because in a world dominated by retina-burning neons and overzealous logos, a little restraint goes a long way.
This May is Grey Days 2025, New Balance’s month-long love letter to its signature hue. Think of it less of a story about colour and more as a celebration of craft, character, and quiet confidence. Since the 1980s, grey has been stitched into the DNA of the brand, dodging garish trends with the poise of a classic. As the unsung hero of the sneaker world, New Balance is understated yet iconic, reserved but never forgettable. And with 21 footwear and 11 apparel pieces dropping for Grey Days 2025, New Balance is making sure every shade, from soft ash to deep graphite gets its moment.
But this isn’t just a nostalgia trip. Alongside reimagined archival classics, you’ll find future-forward silhouettes designed for today’s pace-setters. The collection nods to the brand’s global community of athletes, ambassadors, and creatives, those who embrace the in-between, the unflashy, the effortlessly cool.
The releases will occur throughout the month. Kicking things off on 1 May, the 9060 returns with its distinctive retro-futuristic lines, while the 1000, a beloved ‘90s silhouette, is revived with just the right dash of modernity. Tennis inspired elegance lands in the form of the T500, while performance fans get their fix with the Fresh Foam and 1080v14 in, you guessed it, a flawless shade of grey. Even the 740, a vintage basketball staple, makes a comeback with a serious attitude.
As the month progresses, the momentum only builds. On 14 May, New Balance introduces the 1906 Loafer, a hybrid marvel blending boardroom polish with runner comfort. It’s the kind of shoe that laughs in the face of dress codes. Come 22 May, the ABZORB 2010 and 471 land; they drew deep from the well of New Balance’s technical running heritage and are updated for today’s streetwear sensibility.
Just when you think the party’s winding down, 25 May brings the Numeric 933—a slick skateboarding model made in collaboration with the legendary Andrew Reynolds. And to cap off the month, the piece de resistance, the return of the 1300JP on 29 May. Handcrafted in Maine and released just once every five years, it’s a collector’s dream, heritage, exclusivity, and craftsmanship, all in one immaculate grey package.
The Grey Days 2025 collection is out now, at selected New Balance stores and selected retailers. They retail from SGD65 to SGD439.
