Since its debut under Jonathan Anderson’s direction back in 2015, the Loewe Puzzle bag has become a modern icon—an object of design as much as desire. Marking a milestone 10th anniversary, Loewe is celebrating with 19 standout Puzzle styles from the past decade alongside playful charm additions as well as a new celebratory design, all as part of the Puzzle 10 collection.
Introduced within Loewe's Spring/Summer 2015 menswear collection, the Puzzle was first realised as a messenger before being updated into its signature top-handled design. Its distinctive cuboid form is inspired by the Japanese art of origami and is crafted from precisely cut panels to create structure through softness. What sets the Puzzle apart is its remarkable versatility. Its clever design allows it to be carried by the top handle, worn crossbody or on the shoulder, or tucked flat under the arm or clutched by the hand. Undoubtedly, the Puzzle adapts effortlessly to any occasion.
The Puzzle 10 collection is for any serious Loewe fan or collector. The Puzzle 10 re-editions are each paired with its own matching bag charm, along with a charm of balloons to highlight the celebratory nature of the collection. Each bag is then presented in a bespoke box adorned with a gold foil Anagram and includes a special jigsaw puzzle inspired by the corresponding design.
Gobal pop-ups including Bergdorf Goodman in New York and Harrods in London, as well as exhibitions in Beijing and Taipei have been planned to celebrate the Puzzle's 10th anniversary. Loewe artisans will also visit select cities to demonstrate the intricate craftsmanship behind each bag. But for everyone else, there's a special Loewe magazine issue and an interactive digital experience to further explore the Puzzle’s legacy and celebrate its evolution.

The Multicolour Puzzle bursts with vibrant hues inspired by sunlit Spain. Bold colour-blocking in reds, yellows, blues, and purples contrast with black trim, channeling a playful Pop Art spirit. Introduced in the Spring/Summer 2017 pre-collection, this design marked a bright moment of colour experimentation, reflecting Loewe’s optimistic and playful identity.

The Cloud Puzzle bag features a floating cloud print that flows seamlessly across its geometric panels, evoking a surreal sense of lightness. Inspired by the vibrant spirit of the iconic Ibizan boutique Paula’s, this design captures the essence of 1970s island life—where music, culture, glamour, and freedom came together with flair. For its first Paula's Ibiza capsule in 2017, Loewe drew from the boutique’s archives to create a mellow mosaic of printed canvas and washed, fringed denim. Flamboyant and free-spirited, the look is brought to life by a leather intarsia motif that echoes the soaring freedom of a parrot.

Drawing inspiration from the artistry of William Morris, this design blends delicate florals with a bold punk edge. Nature-inspired details, like a hare and blooming strawberries, echo hand-painted leather jackets. The Mackintosh Puzzle honours Scottish artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh by blending his bold lines and stained glass motifs with the Puzzle’s geometric design. Featuring white and tan leather panels framed in black, the bag’s central rose motif is crafted from smaller leather shapes, merging Mackintosh’s vision with contemporary artistry.

Brimming with bold American spirit, this rootin’ tootin’ Puzzle bag commemorates the opening of the US' first Casa Loewe. Its layered leather in white, black, and denim curls and flows like lively footwork, echoing the abstract fronds and curlicues of Western boots. Contrast stitching sharpens each geometric panel, blending homage with modern reinterpretation.

The Plumeria Puzzle bag features a repeated five-petalled plumeria pattern that rises from its surface, with soft white, tan, and navy leather petals raw-edged and hand-knotted in a signature Loewe technique. Paying decorative tribute to William De Morgan—the 19th-century artist celebrated for his intricate floral and Middle Eastern-inspired motifs—comes a rich Puzzle bag. A bold dandelion, finely embroidered in leather, blooms across the surface, reflecting De Morgan’s rich tapestry of flora and fauna.

Marking the first instance of the Puzzle bag being constructed in a softer, pliable material, the Tartan Puzzle is crafted from a Scottish jacquard wool. Each panel is distinct from its neighbouring one, yet still comprising of a mix of check-lines, fringing and leather piping. This particular bag represents Loewe's continuous material and technical innovation, while paying reverence to handmade craft.

The Ken Price Puzzle bag was said to be the most complex contemporary version of leather intarsia application of its time—owing to the intricate pieces needed to depict the urban sprawl of Los Angeles. Anderson's love for a play of contrasts is exemplified here with the graphic simplicity of the Price's vibrant and cartoonish renderings mixed with the geometry of the Puzzle.

A quiet tribute to New York artist Joe Brainard, this design takes inspiration from one of his pansies-filled works, "Untitled (Pansies)". That same playful spirit appears on the bag, where pansies come to life in a mix of leather intarsia and suede for added texture, set against a white leather background.

A sliced kiwi becomes the star of a summer dream, its psychedelic swirl reimagined through Paula’s archival spirit. In this Puzzle, the fruit is distilled into bold planes of green and black, its form playfully abstracted for maximum graphic impact. Skived and layered leather panels enhance the surreal effect, turning a tropical motif into a vibrant escape.

Blown-up pixels and distorted graphics reimagine retro gaming through a futuristic lens, first introduced in the Spring Summer 2023 women’s runway show. In this Puzzle, precisely printed greys, blues, and blacks on a white base disrupt the bag’s geometry, creating a visual glitch that feels both familiar and strange. This is also the only Puzzle Edge design in the entire collection.

The collection also debuts a new design created specially for the 10th anniversary with the introduction of the Confetti Puzzle bag. Adorned with thousands of leather and metal sequins—all done by hand—it brings a tactile, celebratory energy to the lineup. The design draws inspiration from Italian artist Lara Favaretto’s confetti cube installations that was part of the set design for the Loewe Autumn/Winter 2023 runway space.
The Loewe Puzzle 10 collection will be available in select Loewe stores from 29 May 2025.
