LeVeL33's Sky-High Brewing Earns Guinness World Record

They say the sky's the limit, but clearly LeVel33 didn't get the memo

It's not every day that a microbrewery sits above a city skyline, let alone earned a Guinness World Record for it. Back in 2010, before LeVel33 came to be, a staggering 8,000kg of brewing equipment, including 12 tanks, two copper brewhouse kettles, and a cooling machine needed to be craned up 33 floors into Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1.

Having to merge centuries-old brewing traditions with an urban skyline seems like a gimmick but 15 years later, that audacious dream was officially recognised as the highest microbrewery. Along with its unmatched views, innovative craft beers and commitment to sustainability, with the record, LeVeL33 has raised the bar—both literally and figuratively.

Guinness World Records official adjudicator (yes, they have those) Emi Saito confirmed that the microbrewery rests at 149.32 metres, before presenting the record—a birthday present, as founder Dr Martin Bém called it. "We are thrilled to be recognised by Guinness World Records just ahead of our 15th anniversary. We see this as an important achievement for LeVeL33 as well as an opportunity to showcase the Singapore story of odds-defying innovation, record-breaking growth, and unique, world-class sustainable experiences.”

LeVel33's resident brewmaster Gabriel Garcia combines cutting-edge European brewing technology and heritage recipes for a diverse selection of craft beers, poured straight from the tap. Whether it's a crisp Czech Pilsner, a Viennese-style Lager, or their signature Brut Beer bottled like champagne, every pour is a result of both tradition and innovation. To mark the Guinness World Records induction, the classic Blond Lager now boasts a special edition design featuring the iconic record label.
