The way things are going with tech when you have a mobile phone, everyone has a chance to be a photographer. With this levelled playing field, it all boils down to the device. OPPO has entered the chat.

The Chinese brand launches the Reno10 series—Reno10 Pro+ 5G, Reno10 Pro 5G and Reno10 5G. These are industry-leading camera phones, designed to be the ultimate in portrait taking. And how? Let us count the ways.

The Eyes Have It

The flagship of the series—the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G—has a four-camera system. On the front: the 64MP telephoto portrait camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP main camera (OIS) and a 112° ultra-wide-angle camera. On the rear: a 32MP selfie camera with auto-focus. Capture the details and colour accuracy of your subjects, even when they are in motion.

It has the Ultra-Clear Portrait Camera System, which grabs perfect imaging of your subjects. So, you’ll get natural skin tones, great dynamic range (buh-bye bright highlights and drastic shadows) and no distortion.

The model has zoom capabilities—six times, count ‘em!—and is still able to apply that bokeh efficiently around multiple subjects in portrait mode. Capture wide areas easily with the dedicated ultra-wide sensor and film 4K videos at 60FPS.

There’s a Night Mode feature that shoots your subject in low-light environments. Outfitted with OPPO’s Imaging NPU MariSilicon X, the image  capturing has the best-in-class power efficiency, 20-bit ultra-high dynamic range, real-time RAW processing and Enhanced RGBW Pro Mode.

The OPPO Reno10's secret sauce: the lens.

But how you shoot goes beyond the phone’s capabilities. OPPO has something called the Portrait Expert Project, which incorporates the expertise and cultural perspectives of professional portrait photographers worldwide. These nuggets of insights are added to the Portrait Expert Engine, which accounts for skin tones, faces and backgrounds across the globe.

The Ayes Have It

Pushing the Reno10 series into the "must-get" category is the phone’s 3D curvature. It cradles nicely in your hand and with its ultra-narrow bezels, the “borderless screen” ensures an immersive visual experience.

The phowne, much like any other phone these days, has a slight protrusion (to house the camera system) to its rear. But, hey, at least, with a periscope telephoto camera, this is the slimmest phone on the market! (The Reno10 Pro 5G and Reno10 5G weigh 185g and measure 7.89mm and 7.99mm, respectively.)

Performance-wise, the phone has a 100W SUPERVOOC flash charging (80W for the Reno10 Pro 5G and 67W for the Reno10 5G). An Ultra-Conductive Cooling System and a SUPERVOOC S power management chip keep your phone chill under its immense processing workload.

The OPPO Reno10 series is available at OPPO Concept Stores, OPPO Official Online Store as well as online
