Kim Jones may have officially left his artistic director post at Dior Men, but his legacy at the House will still be felt for, at least, the rest of the year. With an almost-seven-year tenure at Dior Men, Jones introduced a number of sneakers to the Dior man wardrobe; expanding the heritage of the House into more modern territories; all the while, proving that elegant, couture-centric house codes can be paired harmoniously with a dynamic range of sneakers.
For the Dior Men Summer 2025 collection, Jones showcased his chunkiest sneaker silhouette yet. The B35 NXXT model is a departure from the relatively sleek designs of the B23, B27, B33 and B57. A close contender would perhaps be the B30 sneakers released in 2021 but, even then, the B35 NXXT ups the ante in both sportiness and visual heft. At a glance, there’s no mistaking that you’re looking at a Dior Men sneaker, thanks to the distinct openwork sole ingeniously fashioned from the iconic Dior Cannage. Sure, there’s a “DIOR” integrated with graphic style curves along the sides, but the visual impact of the sole alone does the heavy lifting from afar.
The number 47 at the toe of each side is significant. It is a reverent nod to the day Monsieur Dior first showed a collection in the salons of the historic 30 Avenue Montaigne address: 12 February 1947. The subtlety of the element in itself is an ode to the founder’s fondness for being as detailed as possible in his creations.
Wearability is a key detail, especially when it comes to sneakers. Despite its chunky appearance, the B35 NXXT is consciously kept lightweight. The sneakers’ uppers are crafted from raffia with suede inserts that altogether create a tactile experience while ensuring that each pair is as comfortable as they can possibly be. To reinforce the juxtaposition between heritage and the future, the sneakers are made available in natural shades of beige and brown. In other words: exquisite.
The B35 NXXT sneakers are now available in boutiques and online.
