It's officially the first new week of 2026, and that also means the start to another award season. The Critics Choice Awards 2026 took place Sunday night (that's early Monday morning this side of the world) at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica, California. It's a preview of what's to come—a showcase of the series and films that we've binged on and spent hours debating online for the past year, as well as the fashion that their cast will be bringing to the red carpet.
Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein won big, scoring the most number of film wins for the night, including "Best Costume Design", and "Best Supporting Actor" for Jacob Elordi, who turned up in an all-black custom Bottega Veneta double-breasted suit. Also in Bottega Veneta was Owen Cooper of Adolescence, another of the night's biggest winner for television, nabbing four awards including Cooper's "Best Supporting Actor" win.
There were plenty of black outfits on the red carpet among the men, but to their credit, they were hardly safe and boring. Paul Tazewell, the man behind the costume designs for the film adaptations of Wicked, arrived in his true audacious spirit wrapped in a bow, while Paul Mescal showcased a brilliant pairing of casual and formal.
