Esquire Examines: Brunello Cucinelli AW26 Menswear

Brunello Cucinelli went exploring into nature for its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection
Published: 19 January 2026

Brunello Cucinelli is more than a luxury fashion brand. It's a lifestyle. You'd see that the moment you step into its Milan Fashion Week Men's presentations season after season—models in the latest collections, influencers and celebrities dressed head-to-toe in the brands, and guests who could pretty much look like they stepped out of a Brunello Cucinelli lookbook.

It makes complete sense that the brand expands the idea of that lifestyle in every collection.

For Autumn/Winter 2026, Brunello Cucinelli takes inspiration from nature. Calling the collection "Art Imitates Nature", it's the idea that the two worlds converge in a dialogue to help dress the contemporary explorer. And of course, in the sartorial elegance that Brunello Cucinelli has built its reputation around.

The fit: There's a sort of casualisation of tailoring that continues—an approach that the brand has been slowly incorporating into its seasonal collections of late. With the theme at hand, the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection saw cargo trousers—cut slim and with side-zipped hems—worn together with its sublime tailored blazers (crafted with slightly structured shoulders and even softer lines) and even denim jackets with leather patches. In some ways, the looks seemed almost like a participation to the trend that's making the rounds at the moment: a throwback to 2016. Distressed denim jeans, however, felt a bit out of place even if they were calls to the nature-inspired theme.

The details: The knitwear was undoubtedly scrumptious. They were done in a range of treatments, but the chunkier versions (especially the cable knit cardigan fitted with gold buttons in look 30) stood out. The hardware used felt a bit more intentional this time around, with heavier buttons used on tailoring as well as outerwear all served a more utilitarian purpose.

Three exceptional looks: Look 5's classic suiting worn under a leather jacket cut with beautiful style lines; the double-breasted leather jacket that's the star of look 26; and the stunning simplicity of look 27's textural Prince of Wales checked suiting.

The takeaway: Rich materials, rich textures, and rich colours never fail.
