Bell & Ross BR-X3 Adds A Bold Chapter in the BR-03 Legacy

Bell & Ross unveils its instrument watches from its BR-03 line—the BR-X3 Black Titanium and BR-X3 Blue Steel

It's a striking new evolution of the BR-03 line. Bell & Ross unveiled the BR-X3, which dig deep to draw inspiration from aviation instruments and experimental aerospace design. Following in the footsteps of the BR-X5, the BR-X3 takes the reins at being the experimental arm of the BR-03 family. We have two BR-X3 models: the lightweight BR-X3 Black Titanium and the space-toned BR-X3 Blue Steel. These models underscores the BR-03's mission—merging performance, precision, and modern design.

BR-X3 Black Titanium

At the chewy centre of the BR-X3 Black Titanium is a deep focus on material innovation. A favoured material in aerospace and motorsport engineering, titanium gives the watch a technical edge. Lighter than steel, it also boasts outstanding resistance to corrosion and scratches.

The comfort of the material is amplified by a textured black rubber strap. Perforated for breathability, the strap echoes the watch’s lightweight, performance-driven spirit, and extends the impression of lightness across the entire design.

The BR-X3 introduces a new case architecture that takes the familiar square profile of the BR-03. Its 41mm sandwich-style case is built from multiple components and layers that adds to the visual depth. It has a three-plate constructed dial: a matte-black varnished base, a microblasted applique and a micro-blasted insert. Two grey titanium plates sandwich the components. Four screws hold the titanium plates, middle case, bezel, and case-back together. Micro-blasted “Baignoire-style” applique indexes are painted with white Super-LumiNova X1, while white Super-LumiNova X1 is painted on skeletonised hour and minute hands.

On the dial, there's a date window at 3 o'clock and a power reserve indicator at 9. Powered by a new COSC-certified movement, a Calibre BR-CAL.323, the BR-X3 Black Titanium is also paired with a five-year warranty. An openworked black rubber strap ties the whole watch.

BR-X3 Blue Steel

We are looking to the heavens with the BR-X3 Blue Steel. "Aerospace" is the name of the game and this colourway is an assertion of intent, where the theatre of space-age romance can cohabit on a 41 mm wrist.

Like its titanium sibling, the X-shaped bridge overlays the dial's sunray varnished finish, which looks like a window into the sky. The bezel ring is made of blue aluminium and the structural columns are anodised rather than painted, calling to mind the connection systems and fittings of Apollo-era flight suits.

Its metallic decor are given two treatments: polished edges and micro-blasted upper surfaces that underline the watch’s technicality. Again, “Baignoire-style” applied indices, numerals and hands are rendered in metal and filled with white Super-LumiNova. An interplay of polished and satin surfaces, while the blue accents temper the instrumentality with an urbane modernity. The strap, matched to the case and dial tones, completes the look. The BR-CAL.323, an automatic movement powers the timepiece and has a 70-hour power reserve.
