We get it. You were elated when you saw G-Dragon in the header, then wished fiery death on whoever coined that clickbait. But hear us out: this McDonald's collab with local illustrator and artist Toby Tan aka tobyato, is still something to behold.
After graduating with a Visual Communications degree, tobyato dove headfirst into the world of art and design with work that is inspired by traditional Asian motifs and street culture. Since starting seven years ago, tobyato is as prolific as they come. From the IKAN TODAK mural at a shophouse in Duxton Hill to a one-off NFT project with us to the co-created art with Jappy Agoncillo at the Mondrian Singapore, tobyato's latest work is found in McDonald's fan-favourite breakfast.
Coinciding with the seasonal return of the McGriddles, Maccas reached out to tobyato to design some limited-edition merch. The last time Mickey D's collaborated with a local artist was with Mark Ong aka SBTG in 2024; tobyato is the second.
For those interested, expect a white t-shirt and a black jacket from this collab. A key inspiration for the designs is based on the occasional tie-in with McD's. "We wanted to visually design that unique fleeting, seasonal, almost-mythical relationship that we've all grown to love, and can't hate."

The McGriddles x tobyato t-shirts are only available at selected outlets like McDonald's Cineleisure; Suntec City; Springleaf Tower; Paya Lebar Square; and Clementi Mall, and come with a Sausage McGriddles Meal with Hash Brown and an Iced Latte.
With regard to the McGriddles x tobyato black jackets, they are only available to the top 100 patrons with the most McGriddles Meal purchases (or by the enlarged waist size... I kid, I kid) from 12 November to 9 December.Â
