Royal Salute Reveals The Blended Grain, Its Clearest Expression Yet

There are many firsts for Royal Salute. It is the first (and only) brand to release its whiskies that are aged for a minimum of 21 years; it was the first (and only) brand to host events and activations inside the Tower of London; it introduced its first-ever grain whisky (the 21 Year Old Snow Polo Edition). Recently, Royal Salute adds another first to its portfolio: a grain whisky that is now part of the brand's permanent collection.

Called, rather on the nose, The Blended Grain, the grains are hand-selected by Master Blender Emeritus Sandy Hyslop, and they come from some of Scotland's finest silos. As usual, they are aged a minimum of 21 years, and are matured in American oak casks. On the nose: peach and creamy vanilla; on the palate: caramel, ripe pear and toasted hazelnut notes, before ending on a honeycomb finish.

For this new expression, Royal Salute stepped away from his ceramic flagon, and opted to house The Blended Grain in a fully-transparent glass bottle, bringing its amber content into full view. Served alongside its contents, Royal Salute also launched its Contemporary Glass—a stemmed glass with the House's lion crest etched on its bowl.

The Blended Grain is Royal Salute's first grain whisky, but there is a bittersweet note to the launch: this was Sandy Hyslop's last project as a Master Blender before his transition to a consulting role as a Master Blender Emeritus representing Pernod Ricard's luxury brands globally.

The Blended Grain (700ml) is available at select bars, restaurants and clubs, or on its Shopee page
