Precision is what Berluti strives for. That is an unspoken manifesto. The Maison won’t necessarily admit to it point blank, but with all that it has shaped itself to be since its foundation, it’s not difficult to notice its commitment to being as precise as possible.
It perhaps is an odd thing to say given that Berluti’s main expertise is in footwear, where there is hardly a one-size-fits-all approach. Yet, its steely obsession with providing the utmost comfort and precise fit meant that the Maison put in the time to construct its own last standard based on years and years of experience. It’s the very reason why slipping into a pair of Berluti shoes feels so perfect in fit and comfort.
The same intentional thought continues to be put into Berluti’s leather mastery—an extension of its shoe craftsmanship. The Maison’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection introduced the Fly line, conceived as a new-generation material. Fly is essentially a combination of leather, specifically lamb leather, that is thinned to an impressive level of fineness and then bonded to a technical membrane. The result is the best of both materials: the luxurious suppleness of a lightweight lambskin, with the durability and comfort of a technical fabric. Fly moves exactly like how you’d expect a fabric to move.
Berluti has expanded the Fly line for the Autumn/Winter 2026 season with the Fly leather parka. The longer outerwear (Berluti debuted Fly with a blouson last season) pushes the innovation further with a silhouette that offers more fluidity in motion while exuding an elegant air. For an incredibly lightweight leather outerwear, Berluti definitely did not skimp on the functional details; it’s arguably easier to reduce the weight of a garment by paring back on the details. Yet with the Fly leather parka, you’d have access to a duo of patch pockets, a zipped pocket in the interior, and leather zipper pulls and drawstrings—all while being exceptionally lightweight.
It doesn’t end there. With Fly being thought of as a more technical range of its leather offerings, Berluti has also extended the innovation into its bags. Two new Fly bags have been developed to suit the needs of men who live a fast-paced, sophisticated life. The Fly 24h and Fly 72h Travel bags are both crafted from Piuma leather, another innovative leather material. Piuma means “feather” in Italian and reflects the nature of its leather. Where Fly leather is derived from lamb leather, Piuma is crafted from fine calfskin given a tumbled treatment for a natural suppleness and graceful drape. A glazed finish lends a discreet sheen to Piuma leather so that it looks exactly like it feels: soft and silky.
Piuma leather provides the Fly 24h and Fly 72h Travel bags with the aesthetic of a workhorse leather bag coupled with a sense of utilitarian functionality. The bags are lined with ripstop nylon—the same material originally developed for parachutes—meant to keep their seemingly weightless nature. To protect the undersides, an oversized Scritto motif in engineered rubber is cleverly added as a shock-absorbent layer.
Like we said, precision.
