"A shoe that has moved through time, and still moves with us, with you," reads Celine's statement on its collaborative sneaker with Reebok. Sneakily presented during Michael Rider's debut Summer 2027 menswear runway show just this past June, the Celine/Reebok sneakers are finally dropping as promised.
The Celine/Reebok sneakers are based on the latter's 1982 Freestyle Lo. The original was designed by Angel Martinez and was intended to be marketed for women during the rise of aerobics in the '80s. It eventually evolved to be a unisex style that has since seen a number of iterations. It's no surprise then that Rider has chosen the Freestyle Lo as the silhouette of choice, given how his vision for Celine too has been rather gender-fluid in nature.
The collaborative sneakers forgo the original's lateral overlays that are distinctively Reebok. This allows for the attention to be on the smoothness of the lambskin uppers. In place are a series of collaborative insignias—where the Reebok logo would have typically been on the tongue, it has been replaced with "Celine" in Reebok's typeface. And on the heel tabs, each side is dedicated to each brand's icons. In addition, each pair comes with a limited-edition leather tab featuring the collaborators' logos on alternating sides.

Much like Rider's collections for the House thus far, the Celine/Reebok Freestyle Lo sneakers are rendered in a number of monochromatic vivid colours—eight to be exact. They're available in Optic White, Black, Butter, Beige, Peanut, Dark Brown, Oxblood, and Fluo Red, with some said to be available only in specific locations. There's also the Celine/Reebok Alldayeveryday Freestyle Lo sneakers that are the distressed versions as seen on the runway.
In Singapore, the collaborative sneakers will only be available at the Celine boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands starting from 10 September. The Celine/Reebok Freestyle Lo will be priced at SGD990, while the Alldayeveryday Freestyle Lo price at SGD1,150.
