We talk about imperfection like its a bad thing. From the Japanese's idea of wabi-sabi to how Punjabi craftspeople purposefully add small irregularities into the fabric phulkari embroideries, these notions are antidotes to the "picture-perfect" posts you see on social media. Sure, it's nice to freshen up once in a while... do it; you deserve it king. But, the constant need to excel is a trap. Perfection is an illusion (according to some sage, or guru, or from someone who accidentally took too much cough mixture).
Twomorrow, a local diamond atelier, wholly embraces this ethos and has introduced its inaugural ready-to-wear line, called Unbounded. Opened in 2022, Twomorrow's approached to fine jewellery is in choosing salt-and-pepper diamonds for their "natural character, inclusions, and irregular beauty", a far cry from the 4 Cs (Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat) to determine a diamond's quality.
Salt-and-pepper diamonds are natural gems known for their unique internal inclusions of black carbon ("pepper") and white clouds or feathers ("salt"). Because of the multitudes contained within, no two salt-and-pepper diamonds are alike.
Which is why, Unbounded becomes a vehicle for Twomorrow's design language. Their "Art of Imperfection" philosophy, sees the asymmetrical and irregular traits of a salt-and-pepper diamond as "intentional design choices" rather than flaws to be corrected. Thus, you can't go into choosing a piece from the Unbounded collection with intentionality because you don't know what you're gonna get. It's more like your chosen piece is formed more by "感觉" ("feeling").

There are 50 pieces in the Unbounded collection. Again, no two pieces are alike. And according to Twomorrow, this means that each piece is a "limited edition of one".
Twomorrow's founder, Evelyn Chung, says that the collection is about letting customers to feel more like themselves. "It is about allowing form, material and process to move more freely, and trusting that what emerges does not need to be perfect to be meaningful."
Look out for select pieces that are the centrepieces of Twomorrow’s "Art of Imperfection". There's Untamed, which orbits around a natural champagne diamond in a sculptural composition of 18k yellow gold and platinum, and Unapologetic, where a salt-and-pepper marquise diamond sits in platinum, and affixed by a textured 18k yellow gold band traced with two irregular rows of white diamonds along its edges.
A gap-toothed smile. Constellated freckles across the nose. Laugh lines crease the corner of the eyes. Perfection is boring, but imperfection leaves a lasting impression.
The Unbounded Collection is available from 27 June 2026, by appointment only. Prices start from SGD2,200 with customisation available across stone, scale and material, and a lead time of four to eight weeks.Â
