By 2002, a year into his tenure as the creative director of Bottega Veneta, Tomas Maier had already conceived some of the most enduring icons of the House. The Cabat—his first Bottega Veneta bag design—remains a mainstay with its large, roomy silhouette providing an excellent backdrop for the Intrecciato weave. And then there's the Veneta, one of the early hobo-shaped bags by the House.

If you watched current creative director Louise Trotter's runway debut about a month back, you may have noticed a Veneta bag or two quietly snuck in. Maxi versions of the Veneta bag were carried by both a female and male model, exemplifying not only its gender-neutral appeal, but also its style versatility. Trotter's debut Summer 2026 collection paid reverence to the House's craftsmanship and icons, and bringing back something as timeless as the Veneta seemed apt.

Fortunately, we don't have to wait until Trotter's debut collection launches in boutiques. For Bottega Veneta's Pre-Spring 2026 collection, the reissued Veneta bag is already part of the mix. Like its 2015 rendition—the first fully Intrecciato version—the new Veneta bag is crafted to be as light and as soft even with the structured inner base. The Intrecciato strips are however, slightly wider for a more contemporary look. Yet, the tactility remains unmatched, as with every Bottega Veneta creation.

The new Veneta bag comes in three sizes: Small, Medium, and Maxi. The latter certainly makes more sense proportionally for men. However, the general shape of the bag offers the right balance of structure and soft pliability that no matter what size you gravitate towards, it will be right for you.

And the best thing is, the new Veneta bag is covered by the House's Certificate of Craft, offering a lifetime care as a testament to the House's commitment to craftsmanship.
