American fashion brand Coach has been slowly expanding into the food and beverage scene in Singapore. It was two years ago that the brand opened the first Coach Café (in partnership with Brawn & Brains Coffee) at the Coach Play Singapore Shophouse along Keong Saik Road. The Coach Café has since turned into the Coach Bar as of May this year, offering SGD12 martinis and a curated menu of American classics. And in August, the Coach Coffee Shop was opened right next to the Coach boutique at Resorts World Sentosa's WEAVE, with a polarising chilli crab-flavoured soft serve on the menu.
It's safe to say that Coach is unafraid of being experimental when it comes to the f&b experience. The newly opened Coach Restaurant proves that. Let us explain...
Like the Coach Coffee Shop, the Coach Restaurant is situated right next to the Coach boutique at Jewel Changi Airport. Anyone arriving into Singapore from Terminal 1 of Changi Airport would immediately be able to see the restaurant—it's that visible from the Arrival Hall.

The interior of the restaurant takes inspiration from a classic American steakhouse with booth-seating as well as a counter-seating positioned along a long counter, but elevated with dark furnishings and leather seats rendered in that signature Coach leather hue. The counter faces an open woodfire kitchen so you're privy to the kitchen staff prepping and cooking your meal. On the walls facing the kitchen are framed up Coach paraphernalia for added branded details, and while you're dining, the menu, napkin ring and coaster are all crafted out of Coach leather.
The Coach Restaurant is stylish. And it's also reflected in the food. Plating is immaculate, with expected branded flourishes on some menu items like the Classic Steak Tartare shaped into the Coach Signature motif, and the incredibly juicy and well-spiced The Chicken Bucket (a definite must-try) served in a bucket dressed in Coach leather—the latter could pretty much be a Coach runway bag.

Out of an impressive almost-40-long list of food items on the menu, we sampled 13 including the aforementioned two. We started with The Black and White Bagel that's a decadent take on the NY bagel amped up with a slap of caviar on one side and cream cheese on the other. It is a mini bite though but at SG18 for a helping of caviar, it's not offensively priced. The Washington State Oysters were fresh, plump and juicy, but we'd recommend the Maryland Crab Cake instead to satiate a seafood craving. It's completely packed with soft and juicy crab meat within a crispy layer.
The menu's New York Classics portion serves up the usual suspects such as The NY Slice (SGD9) with tomato and mozarella as well as The Chicken Bucket. The star however, was The NY Burger that's easily a strong contender for an excellent honest-to-goodness cheeseburger. The wagyu beef patty was thick and juicy with the toppings—cheddar cheese, pickles and secret sauce—perfectly balanced. And the price? Only SGD14, and in this economy. Insane.
Being inspired by an American steakhouse, you'll be glad to know that the Coach Restaurant does theirs pretty well. We had the Linz Heritage Chicago USDA Prime Black Angus Ribe-Eye that was a hefty 250g served with garlic confit and rosemary. The meat was perfectly grilled and tender. For the steak connoisseurs, the restaurant offers four different types of beef: the Linz Heritage Chicago, Satsuma Kagoshima Prefecture Wagyu A5, Rangers Valley New South Wales Black Angus MB3+, and Tender Valley New South Wales Black Angus MB3+. The latter two are only available in a specific cut, with the Tender Valley being the priciest at SGD295 for a 1.5kg OP Rib.
The Maine Lobster was satisfying enough and stayed true to what one might expect of the dish. The restaurant gets their lobsters flown fresh daily and that definitely came through. The Creamy Sweet Corn & Jalapeño as well as the Duck Fat French Fries were good side dishes but we'd probably skip them on the next visit to focus more on the starters and desserts. The NY Style Cheesecake was a generous slice and wasn't too sweet (although those with a sweet tooth may find it a bit on the lighter side). The crust was biscuity with a nutty feel. But if you're up for an alcohol zing with your dessert, go for the Flaming PB&J Bombe Alaska that's filled with smooth and creamy peanut butter parfait, and was the perfect end to the meal.
While you're at it, the selection of drinks are extensive. The restaurant also serves the SGD12 martinis you'd find at the Coach Bar, but let us steer you towards the Coach Signature Cocktails, especially Waffled Up. It smelled deliciously like breakfast and is the kind of cocktail you'd have to be careful with because the maple hid the taste of the grey goose vodka pretty well. But hey, it definitely hit the spot.
Oh! Don't forget to look up while you're dining so you don't miss a New York City icon peeking through the ceiling.

The Coach Restaurant is located at #01-207 Jewel Changi Airport, 78 Airport Boulevard, Singapore 819666. It opens daily from 11:30am to 10.00pm.
