This isn't a drill—or some messed-up, sci-fi fever dream—Netflix just revealed the first trailer for Black Mirror season seven. If that's not enough good news, we’re also returning to the USS Callister.
That's right, season seven will feature the first-ever sequel to a prior Black Mirror episode. In the new trailer, Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Billy Magnussen (Road House), and Jimmi Simpson (Dark Matter), all return to reprise their roles from the season four standout space epic. I'll spare you the spoilers in case you haven't watched, but "USS Callister" ended on a chilling cliff-hanger involving Jesse Plemons (Civil War). Watch the trailer below.
According to Netflix, season seven will also feature episodes starring Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Paul Giammati (The Holdovers), Awkwafina (Kung Fu Panda 4), Issa Rae (Insecure), Rashida Jones (Silo), Chris O'Dowd (The Big Door Prize), Tracee Ellis Ross (American Fiction), Emma Corrin (Nosferatu), and more. The upcoming season looks to tackle AI, new-fangled technology, and violent video games.
Aside from the trailer, Netflix hasn't released more information about Black Mirror’s return. However, based on previous seasons, we can expect another batch of twisted, Charlie Booker-written stories. Six new episodes hit Netflix on 10 April, 2025. Until then, I'd maybe steer clear of any skeptical, untested tech products.
