We all wear a uniform. And no, we’re not referring to scrubs or the military sort. No matter what your job title is and whatever it entails, we each have our own way of approaching how we dress for work, eventually creating a fail-safe combination (a “uniform”) that becomes synonymous with our sense of style in a work environment. It’s a look we’ve grown accustomed to but after a while, change is always refreshing.
While office dress codes have clearly moved away from the super formal and suited up Mad Men era, there is still a need to look professional and not appear too casual. We break down five looks for each day of the workweek from G2000’s new spring 2018 collection to help you get started on breaking apart from your usual uniformed attire.
Or any day a very important meeting is scheduled. G2000 has upgraded its series of Unconstructed Suits this season and made them lighter with no padded shoulders. This means that the suit blazer follows the natural shape of your shoulders without adding any unnecessary bulk. Add to that a half-lined construction for a more comfortable (and cooler) fit. Suits are too hot and stuffy for this side of the world? Think again.
The broken suit is the best friend you never knew you needed. It gets you more wear out of your suits while also helping you to avoid wearing the same combinations repeatedly. Break up your patterned or textured suits and pair the suit blazer or trousers with plainer complements. It’s easy to do and almost always foolproof. If there’s a look you’d want to try for every work day, this is your new uniform.
We’re at the halfway mark now. If you can afford to, it’s time to loosen the tie and go without it. But even if you can’t forgo the tie, G2000’s Cordura sweater is quite an ace at ensuring that you won’t be drenched in your own sweat. The seersucker blazer does the same with its moisture-wicking capabilities so you can layer up with no apprehension. Sweet.
G2000 has another trick up its sleeve when it comes to keeping you cool while you pile on the layers. Its Cool Jade Technology infuses recycled jade into fabric yarns to make use of the natural cooling effect of jade. The result is this season’s sweaters that come with the promise of keeping you feeling comfortable, dry and cool.
If casual Fridays are still a thing in the office, apply some caution and put on a polo T-shirt instead of a crew neck tee. It’s a tad more dressed up and still affords the same freedom of movement. Pack along G2000’s all-new packable jacket to be ready for any impromptu emergency meetings. It’s wrinkle-resistant and lightweight so it fits right in your bag and good to go when needed.
