There’s a reason you’ve either heard of or been to Lantern, Loof, or Cé La Vi. It’s because they’re really great rooftop bars (and have amazing marketing agencies, kudos). But if you’re seeking a smaller budget and a cosier setting, then here’s where you should head to.
PS.Cafe Attic Lounge
You’re probably more than familiar with PS.Cafe, but you might not know that the one perched on Ann Siang Hill has now opened its attic lounge bar. Happy Hour happens between 4-7pm daily, except for Truffle Thursdays, where along with a host of free truffle-infused dishes, extends the hours to 9pm.
PS.Cafe Attic Lounge is located at 45 Ann Siang Road, Singapore 069719. For more inquiries, call 6708 9288.
In contrast to the bustle of town, Grand Park Orchard’s rooftop bar is that happy, pastel, tropical oasis. We’d say the best time to visit would be during the bar’s pool party events because it’s a fantastic way to chill in the laid-back garden setting with guest DJ sets and exclusive Boozy Pops in hand.
Bar Canary is located at Level 4, 270 Orchard Road, Singapore 238857. For more inquiries, call 6603 8855.
This one’s good for the ‘gram with killer sunset views, flambé European tapas and nitro-frost cocktails. Also being atop a hill, the conveniently situated Mount Faber station right next door gives you the after-dining option of taking the cable car ride down.
Dusk is located at Level 2, 109 Mount Faber Road, Singapore 099203. For more inquiries, call 6377 9688.
Another gem down south is Bay Hotel’s Propeller. This bar overlooks the vast expense of Keppel Bay and our island’s very own island, Sentosa. That means getting an aerial view of the long highway, feeling the cool sea breeze, and witnessing the lucky sights of Universal Studio’s fireworks.
Propeller is located at 50 Telok Blangah Road, Singapore 098828. For more inquiries, call 6818 6676.
As you can divine from the straightforward and telling name—they screen movies here. On the upper deck, however, is a relaxing alfresco bar with views of Chinatown heritage houses juxtaposed against CBD skyscrapers. So catch a film then head up for Happy Hour, which on Mondays and Tuesdays, goes on all night long.
Screening Room is located at 12 Ann Siang Road, Singapore 069692. For more inquiries, call 6221 1694.
Link Hotel’s Asian accented bar is less on panoramic views but it’s cosier and wallet-friendly. In the vein of the nostalgic estate’s infamous hipster slant, the bar puts a twist on their offerings. Y’know, like Benedictine DOM and bourbon with bacon and edamame beans, because ordinary cocktails are too mainstream.
LIN ‘林’ is located at 50 Tiong Bahru Road, Singapore 168733. For more inquiries, call 9487 4290.
Enjoy 33 floors worth of city skyline from the outskirt vantage point that is Marriott’s Courtyard at Novena. If you’re looking for an infinity pool sans hordes of tourists, this recently opened bar is perfect. Further incentive: drinks are 1-for-1 from 5 – 8pm every single day.
Urbana is located at 99 Irrawaddy Road, Singapore 329568. For more inquiries, call 6378 2060.
