Earlier in June this year, Leica, the German company known for its cult cameras, announced the release of its first watch, marking the beginning of Leica’s future as a lifestyle brand. And with this new vision comes the inaugural Leica Playground, a fun and immersive photography festival happening the weekend of 10 November 2018, as part of the Leica Foto Festival Singapore 2018.
Branded as a “new shooting platform for both amateurs and professionals”, visitors can look forward to a slew of photography-related experiences at Wheeler’s Yard: Ogle Audi’s latest rides, sample Bvlgari fragrances, refresh with a G&T at the Ki No Bi bar, and find your next timepiece at SEVENFRIDAY’s booth. On Saturday, there’s also a meet-and-greet session with Stefan Daniel, Leica Camera AG’s Global Director of the Product Division, in a “Secret Weapon” showcase.
The products at the Leica Playground aren’t just for display. Learn how to shoot watches, cars, product portraits with Bvlgari fragrances and pick up tips on macro photography at the various workshops conducted by Leica ambassadors. Cameras are not provided, so remember to bring your own.
Admission to Leica Playground is free, anyone can join the workshop at the stipulated timings. It’s not often Leica puts out workshops for non-professional photographers, so you’ll be sorry to miss out. Register your interest and find more information about the event on Leica Playground’s website.
